The UDL Project
The Universal Design for Learning (UDL) Project (aka Inclusion is Not a Checklist) began as a Scheduled Development project in 2018 . The initial project focus was on helping to make online courses more accessible to Camosun College students by increasing faculty understanding of accessibility challenges students experience in association with course design and delivery. The project has grown since then, with the involvement of several student partners and contributors.
The outcomes of The UDL Project to date are based in practices that live at the intersection of WCAG 2.0 technical standards, Universal Design for Learning principles (UDL), the 7 principles of Universal Design and guidelines from Universal Design in Education

Project Owner
My name is Sue Doner. I am an Instructional Designer in the eLearning unit at Camosun College. I am deeply invested in proactively supporting accessible education experiences in post-secondary.
The Camosun College campuses are situated on the Territories of the lək̓ʷəŋən (Songhees and Kosapsum) and W̱SÁNEĆ Peoples.
I have been a visitor and uninvited settler on these Territories since 1994. I am profoundly grateful for the privilege I have to live, work, play, and raise my family here.
